Mushtaque Mohammed, from the beautiful twin Islands Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, has been involved in Sports Administration for over 35 years as a volunteer. A retired school teacher but currently employed as a Senior Sports Officer at the University of Trinidad and Tobago and lectures in the Department of Kinesiology, Physical Education, and Sports. He holds a Master's Degree in Sports Organisation Management and also in Sports for Development. In Trinidad and Tobago, he served in various roles in Sports Administration which includes General Secretary and President of the Trinidad and Tobago Volleyball Federation (TTVF) for over twenty-five years and had a sixteen-year stint at the Trinidad and Tobago Olympic Committee, firstly as an Executive Member, then as a Vice President.  Regionally, he has been President of the Caribbean Zonal Volleyball Association since 1994 and in 1992 he joined the North, Central America, and Caribbean Volleyball Confederation (NORCECA) as a board member but currently serves as an Executive Vice President. He is also Vice President of the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) and President of the Development Commission. In 2012 and 2016 he participated Olympic Games as an International Technical Official on behalf of the FIVB. He believes that Sport is an avenue to assist the development of people not only physically, but also to shape their characters and wellbeing. In a society where there is so much need for mentoring youths, he decided to dedicate his life towards making this contribution.  It has been a rewarding experience so far, although there are daily challenges, he enjoys making this contribution even though sometimes it’s frustrating.
