2009 – Current 

Stanislaus State Head Coach – Men’s Soccer

Responsible for overseeing day to day operations of a Division II program in the #1 conference in the nation, the CCAA. In seven short years I have taken a program (1 winning season in 11 years - 51 total wins over that span of time and a national ranking of 127) and have brought them into the top 25. We have had six 10 plus winning seasons – 84 combined wins, 4 CCAA post-season appearances in the last 5 years, were crowned CCAA Champions in 2012 and Co – Champions in 2014 and earned a berth into the 2012 NCAA Tournament before eventually losing to the #1 team in the country in the second round.  In 2015 we re-wrote the record books (15-3-3) and lost in the NCAA Tournament.  Currently, I oversee a 16 million dollar soccer complex – practice field & state of the art stadium.

Burlingame Dragons FC – Affiliate of San Jose Earthquakes - MLS Head Coach - PDL

I was responsible for coaching and overseeing the selection process of all its players for this new franchise. The franchise hired me as part of the technical support from the SJ Earthquakes -MLS. This team finished 1st place in the South West Conference at 11-1-3 in its inaugural year and won South West Division Championships finishing 12-2-3. Team was recognized as the new USL – PDL “New Franchise of the Year.”

Sports Management Worldwide - London, UK Soccer Management & Scouting

Training included traditional and cutting-edge scouting techniques and player evaluations, scouting reports, statistical analysis, soccer general manager practices, player personnel and team/club management. Mentored by ESPN’s Tommy Smyth and Matt Martin, the Real Salt Lake Director of Academy Scouting.

San Jose Earthquakes - MLS Head Coach – PDL

I was responsible for coaching and overseeing the selection process of all its players. This team was 7-4-3 in the inaugural year as a new franchise. The team finished 3rd place out of 6 teams and 1 point out of the playoffs. Do to this being it’s inaugural season and located 1 hour and 45 minutes from San Jose I served as the marketing director, manager, referee coordinator, set up and oversaw promotions and media. I set up sponsorships with the local radio station and worked as the liaison between the Earthquakes, City of Turlock and Cal State Stanislaus University. We had Western Player of the Year Ramon Martin del Campo. Ramon was named to the PDL Team of the Year and finalist for PDL National Newcomer of the Year. Ramon was brought into the SJ Earthquakes 1st team for a 10 day trial after the season and then asked to go to the Bahamas with the US Under 23 National Team and signed a two-year deal with 31 time National Champion Deportiva Saprissa of Costa Rica. I helped two players - Nick Cashmere and Luis Martinez gain contracts to a second division team; ADG in Costa Rica. I had the honor with this team (SJ Earthquakes PDL) to play our full National team in two games, just prior to the National Teams appearance in the 2014 World in Brazil.  In 2014, I was chosen as a Finalist for the Betsy McAdams Key Grip Award (top manager -coach in the league) by the United States Soccer League for 2014 season. 

February, 1999 – May, 2009

Oregon State University Head Coach - Men's Soccer

Responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations of a Division I program, in one of the top conference in the nation, the PAC 12. I took OSU from #178 in the country, out of 202 teams, to #9 and #7 on two separate occasions, with two NCAA post-season appearances. I mentored and developed 17 players currently playing professionally in the MLS and abroad. In 2010, Danny Mwanga was selected #1 player in the MLS draft to Philadelphia. Other notable names Alan Gordon, Ryan Johnson, Robbie Findley, Bryan Jordon, Brian Farber all currently playing in the MLS and each with varying national teams. 

Administrative:  Oversee all aspects of the budget, scheduling, travel, compliance policies, personnel hirings, staff and player reviews, fundraising, academic student services, community service projects, apparel contracts, media relations, camps, recruiting, and lecturing. â–ª Budget:  Oversee a $650,000 operating budget. 

Camps:  Oversee all aspects of a $210,000 camp business.

Fundraising & Marketing: Set up an alumni program "Boot Room" to network and support men's soccer. This program reached out to all OSU alumni on a semi weekly basis through the Scoutware software.  Procured a $32,000 annual apparel contract with Diadora America totaling $320,000 over the past 10 years. Developed the OSU Coaches Clinic, which in 7 years raised $70,000 dollars.  Obtained lights for Paul Lorenz Soccer Complex through the US Soccer Foundation, a $230,000 project that was paid off through the coache’s clinics.   

Guest lecturer: Frequently lectured at various organizations including Coca Cola's regional sales meeting, Kiwanis, Lions Club, OSU Alumni functions, and Radisys.com national sales meeting.   

Recruiting Players:  Scout players at state, regional, national, and international (Croatia, Costa Rica, Australia, New Zealand, France, England and Canada) events. Developed an ongoing recruiting system with weekly newsletter and emails blasts through Scoutware software. Oversee all official visits, home visits, expense reports and strict adherence to all NCAA compliance issues.   

Staff:  Oversee four staff members; two assistant coaches, secretary, and trainer. Developed ongoing training programs with; sports psychologist, weight trainers, nutritionist, team chaplain, volunteer assistant coach and an academic advisor.    

Team Training: Responsible for setting up a comprehensive year round training program for 29 team members. Oversee and administer strength-training, heart rate monitor running program, and team training sessions. 

February, 1995 - February, 1999 

Creighton University Men's Assistant Soccer Coach

Responsible for assisting in day-to-day operations of a Division I nationally ranked Top 10 men's soccer program. Duties included recruiting players, goalkeeper training, team training, soccer academy camp programs, fitness training, compliance rules and regulations, fundraising, and marketing. During this time Creighton was the second winningest program in the country with 2 Final Four appearances. 

Oct. 1993 - Feb., 1995 

Nebraska State Soccer Association State Director of Coaching & Player Development    

Responsible for overseeing 22,950 youth players and coaches. Developed and oversaw a $100,000 Olympic Development Program and implemented state wide district tryouts.  Implemented a state sponsored summer camp program in outlying areas for underprivileged families in Scottsbluff. Developed a new state coaching manual and curriculum for state licensing program. During this time founded a new state run league with promotion and relegations.  Was instrumental in bringing Adidas and Kwik Goal to the table as an eventual sponsor of Nebraska State Soccer ODP and State licensing programs. Set up first ever, state run coaches clinic workshop. 

February, 1992 - September, 1993 

Chargers Soccer Club Director of Coaching

Directed a full service club encompassing players from ages 4 – adults and responsible for 1,200 developmental and competitive players. Trained monthly 80 coaches through various clinics and worked with all competitive teams ongoing.  Recruited and trained all coaches in both programs. Oversaw all aspects of the 5 tournaments held each year, one being the prestigious Adidas Pikes Peak Invitational Soccer Tournament (3rd largest - held on the grounds of the USAFA).

Colorado College Assistant Coach

Helped head coach Horst Richardson and Colorado College to their first ever and only Final Four College Cup appearance.  The team went 19-2-2.
